RemNote presents its note-taking design in the way of concepts and descriptors which is simply parent/child bullet points. As in, the parent bullet point is the concept and its children are the descriptors. When hashtags are used in your notes, those hashtags can act as concepts with descriptors to insert in the form of a drop down menu. Here’s how it works.
Create navigation between neighbor pages with the RemNote alias feature. What is a neighbor page? This is a page that is not in the same hierarchy as a current page. For instance, a document called “18th Century” will have children pages between 1700 and 1799. The document called “19th Century” will not be its child, but rather, its direct neighbor.
A RemNote portal is a window into other notes in the workspace. The following is a portal search feature I find useful for finding similar notes inside specific documents in the workspace and how I compare and manipulate results from two search portals as well.
How do I find a power up rem? Locate the search icon in the sidebar next to documents and search for power ups here. All power ups are identified with an arrow icon pointing up. What user benefits most from a power up rem? The knowledge base user will hugely benefit from the power up rem to quickly collect groups of unique content that is outside their tagging and/or linking system.
There is a custom-css power rem in RemNote that allows the user to customize their workspace. Included is an option to create a blank css block and edit a default template. I want to show you the steps I took to customize my css, and some copy+paste templates for those who aren’t familiar with css. Here are some simple blocks to get started.
RemNote is a great tool for life learners. It provides a nested concept structure, networked-thought management, and flashcards. An incredible all-in-one tool. I've noodled around the app for a couple months and compiled some basics I've learned thus far.
I published a video on YouTube last week on how I use Notion and RemNote to learn French. In it, I explained how one can implement audio examples from Google Translate and Reverso into a Rem flashcard. This is especially useful for pronunciation learning. Here’s how I did it.
There is a pretty neat power-up feature in RemNote, the template. Essentially, this inline template will create recurring concepts and descriptors inside your notes. For example, in my language notes, I need to conjugate verbs that follow identical tenses. So, I will create a template with every tense pre-written in a list via the addition of a “new verb” tag.
RemNote is a program that encourages hierarchical note-taking, knowledge-management and flashcard generation — a one, two, three punch for learners from initial data to organization to retention. Alongside life-learners, students can especially benefit from RemNote’s features. Here is how a user can best organize textbook information.
