🍲 Meal Planner

I set out to design an alternative to a recipe dashboard in Notion I made a few months back. Included is a calendar to plan meals that is connected to an ingredients database to archive several meals in relation to say “eggs.” Overtime, the user can reference the ingredients database to determine what meal to make next. As well, there are two linked databases at the top to insert meals for today and tomorrow.

I wanted to create a skeletal dashboard to compile ingredients that relate to multiple meals. You can then add more properties from here. In its bare form, this dashboard can be used as a reference for shopping lists.

For example, if you only have milk, eggs and bread, you can find what meals use these ingredients to determine tonight's dinner.

The Calendar (Main Database)

Plan meals in advance and track meals from the past inside a calendar.

How To Use The Meal Planner

Two linked databases from the calendar sit at the top of the template. One is filtered to only show meals for “today.” The other is filtered to only show meals for “tomorrow.” The tomorrow database is designed as a quad boardview for easy access to plan the next day’s meals.

Properties And How They Connect To Ingredients

  • Type: choose the type of meal (ie. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack)

  • Ingredients: list of ingredients

  • Date: date the meal is planned for
