My Favorites From Notion’s New Search Update
Welcome Notion 2.7! There’s no denying the Notion community has a collective jolt of data-nerd adrenaline whenever a Notion update is released. As for our precious API, we're not quite there but the lovely folk working hard on that massive update are giving us a belated Christmas present instead. In this update are the following additions and improvements:
Better search
New markdown shortcuts
Misc. bug fixes

Today, I am going to go over some of my favorite improvements and why they’re going to streamline my productivity much more efficiently.
Checkbox
First, the checkbox improvement. Lordy, did I need this. The checkbox is a vital component of any database, and more importantly, any database view. Before, we were somewhat restricted to a classic table or list in order to make use of this function properly. Now, its ease of use is greatly improved.
Zoom
What I'm also excited to see, and didn't particularly find to be an issue until I saw this fix, is the intuitiveness of the zoom response. I tend to zoom in and out of my Notion pages in order to screenshot my workspace for this blog and so I always find myself at a new degree of zoom every time I return.
Indentation
Navigating through and adjusting indentation fluctuations in large bodies of text was a nightmare before 2.7. Now, I'm able to backspace from an indentation without remaining stuck in the indent placed before. Students, writers and bullet users will hugely appreciate this one.
Shortcuts
Shortcuts are what make Notion's ease of use so, well, easy. As a toggle connoisseur, the golden dropdown function is the only reason why I stuck with Notion so vehemently. Sure, it isn't revolutionary but the sleek UI and minimal design that goes into every corner of the all-in-one-sandbox is what takes toggle to another level.
Point is, toggle has a new shortcut! - and so do Quotes and Headings.
Better Search
And the piece de resistance - a new and improved search feature! Previously, we scrolled endlessly through every piece of content ever created during our time on the app (including pages in the trash ... ugh) in order to locate anything. Here are some much needed filters that have been implemented:
