How To Create a Backlink

There are 3 ways to create a new inline page.

  1. The first is to use the "@" button.

  2. The second is to type "[[".

  3. The third is to type "+" and begin typing a title

Here, you are prompted to either create a new page or link to an existing page.

First, you'll notice that a linked inline page and sub page are smaller than a regular page. Also, coloring a linked page will cover the document icon as well.

A sub-page is structured like this:

  • In this scenario, the sub page was created inside a page called "The Archive," of which appears as a link at the top left hand corner.

A remote page is structured like this.

  • Upon adding a remote inline link to page that already exists, a backlink will appear. In this scenario, let's link a remote page to the above sub-page.

  1. Type "[["

  2. Type label of new page + select "New Page In"

  3. Find page to insert new page inside.

If you click inside this new page, you'll find that a backlink has populated. The backlink will display the page your original link resides.
